Freedom Teams Core Values
Knowing God
-
We value God, who has called every believer in Christ into a love relationship with Himself, leading to a life of faith fully dependent on Him.
-
We seek to walk in grace, truth, and balance (John 1:14).
-
We treasure the Word of God—both written and living—as the means of transformation for all who follow Christ. His work through us flows from Him (2 Corinthians 3:18).
-
We strive to be unwavering and uncompromisingly biblical (Colossians 2:6-7, 2 Timothy 2:15).
-
We value prayer as an overflow of our love relationship with Jesus Christ, recognizing it as vital to the life we are called to live (1 Thessalonians 5:17, Colossians 4:2, Ephesians 6:18).
His Work in Us
-
We rely on the leading and empowerment of the Holy Spirit for every responsibility assigned to us by God—responding to His work in and through us (Luke 4:1,14; John 5; Galatians 5:16,18; Romans 8:14; John 14; John 16:13).
-
We emphasize yieldedness to God (Romans 12:1; Romans 6:13).
-
We seek to be Spirit-led, Spirit-filled, and Christ-honoring in all that we do.
-
We believe in an active walk with God, not a passive one (Philippians 3:10).
His Work Through Us
-
We value the universal and local church as the body of Christ—God’s incarnate expression in the world (Acts 2:42).
-
We believe that New Testament truth must be accompanied by New Testament life; otherwise, it diminishes Christ’s glory.
-
We value both the autonomy and interdependence of the church (Romans 16:3, Colossians 4:16, Acts 20:28, 2 Corinthians 11:28).
-
We acknowledge that God’s work did not begin with us and will not end with us—His kingdom is far greater than any one local effort (John 5).
-
We value living in freedom and holiness that comes from a love relationship with Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 7:1, Galatians 5:1, Hebrews 12:14).
Dependence on the Holy Spirit
-
We value Christ’s heart for lost souls and His command to preach the Gospel to all people. We believe the Gospel is the power of God for salvation and that every soul desperately needs it (John 5:17, Acts 18:10, Philippians 1:6, Matthew 16:18, 1 Corinthians 9:19).
-
We recognize the urgency of the Gospel, with the end goal being maturity—both individual and corporate. We believe this is the heart of discipleship (Colossians 1:28, Matthew 28:18-20, 2 Timothy 2:2).
-
We value God’s design for the establishment of local churches that, from inception, have the ability and intent to reproduce (Matthew 28, Acts 8:4, Mark 3:14, Mark 16:20).
-
We value the diversity of spiritual gifts, believing the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. We therefore pursue teamwork and plural gifted ministry as essential (1 Corinthians 14:29, 1 Peter 4:10, Ephesians 5:21, 1 Corinthians 12:12-31).
-
We recognize that God has gifted each believer uniquely and desire for them to function in the body according to His design.
-
We value Christians thriving in an environment of fellowship and community (1 Corinthians 16:16, Ephesians 5:21).
-
We prioritize clear communication of biblical truth, ensuring it is understood and applied (1 Corinthians 14:8, Romans 10:14, John 7:46, John 5).
-
We believe that love and unity within the body of Christ are essential—without them, Christ will not be seen (Philippians 2:1-11, John 13:35).
-
We uphold transparency and humility in leadership, following the example of Christ and the apostles (Philippians 2, 1 Timothy 1:12).
